Pre-Thanksgiving
I know that I said I'd be posting more HDR images in this post but I'm pushing that back one post. I'm about to get off work and head home for a little bit of sleep then trip to visit my mother with Julie to have a pre thanksgiving diner. Hopefully I can get some good pictures on the way. Also, I have 2 rolls of film that I will be getting processed this am and I'll try to get those up as quickly as i can.

HDR!!!!!
I've been doing a lot of experimenting with HDR photos. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.....this means that all the areas of a photo are better visualized through the combination of several different exposed images. This lends itself to become very artistic. This is what attracted me to it soooooo greatly!! To me it's like shooting with film in the respect that you have no clue if the image will be worth while or not until its processed. Ill give some examples.
Example 1: Pre-HDR
Example 2: Post HDR
See the difference? In the second image all the shadows and the highlights are all of an equal exposure. Giving the picture a artistic almost surreal look. The processing (Tone mapping) is a little more complex than just combining 3 images but i will get into that later. I'm still expirementing with it in Photomatix. This is a program designed solely for HDR production. This process can be done in photoshop but the images don't look as good in my oppinion. I have more HDR images that I have been playing around with and I'll be posting them in my next blog. But until then just check these over and let me know what you think!

Post Numero Uno
Okay...so this being blog post number 1, I guess it should be an explanation into what this will and won't be about.
What it won't be about: One thing it won't be about is how my day is going and how my life is. It won't be about me whining about the world or politics or who wronged me. It won't be about religion or my philisophical beliefs.
What it will be about: My adventures into the world of photography and artsy things like that. I may go on rants about why I believe one type of photography is better than another or why I hate photographing (insert crappy photographic subject here). I plan to post many pictures along the way and explanations of how I produced them and new up and coming techniques that I plan on trying with them.
What I hope to get out of the blog community: I plan on getting a lot of feed back on my pictures and my journeys I document with me and my wife. Criticism be it bad or good is greatly appreciated. Just no name calling or unjustified comments. Keep it Clean!!!!
I don't know how long I'm going to post on here of how often I will post but be assured there will be some sweet photos and some good stories.
